The USL Championship is the second-highest men's professional soccer league in the United States, sitting directly below MLS. It's built around independently, often locally owned clubs — teams like Louisville City FC, Phoenix Rising FC, Detroit City FC and San Antonio FC have built loyal fan bases without an MLS badge attached. The regular season generally runs from March through October, followed by a playoff bracket that decides the league champion.
Because these clubs aren't tied to an MLS academy pipeline, Championship rosters mix experienced pros, college standouts and international signings, and ticket prices typically run well below MLS.
